Whether you’re experiencing sudden pain, bleeding, swelling, or have been referred by a clinician for a specialist scan, our HCPC-registered sonographers are available to help at short notice in our CQC-regulated clinic.
Available from approximately 2 weeks after a positive pregnancy test. This scan checks pregnancy viability, confirms the location of the pregnancy (ruling out ectopic), detects a heartbeat where visible, and provides reassurance if you are experiencing bleeding, pain, or anxiety in early pregnancy.
This is one of our most requested emergency scans and can be booked at very short notice.
A lower limb venous duplex ultrasound used to examine the veins in one or both legs for blood clots. This scan is recommended if you are experiencing leg swelling, pain, redness, or warmth — symptoms that can indicate a deep vein thrombosis requiring prompt medical attention.
If DVT is suspected following your scan, we will advise you to seek immediate GP or A&E assessment.
For patients experiencing sudden or severe abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, or other acute symptoms. This scan assesses the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, and surrounding structures to identify potential causes such as gallstones, kidney stones, organ enlargement, or fluid collections.

Call or book online to secure your emergency appointment — we aim to see urgent patients the same day or next day where possible. Let us know your symptoms at the time of booking so we can prepare appropriately. Some abdominal scans may require fasting beforehand — we will advise you when you book.
Your scan will be carried out by an experienced, HCPC-registered sonographer. They will explain what they are looking for and talk you through the findings during the appointment. Most scans take between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the area being assessed.
You will receive a same-day written clinical report. If your scan reveals findings that require urgent attention, your sonographer will advise you clearly on next steps — whether that is contacting your GP, attending A&E, or seeking a specialist referral.
Our same day/urgent scan service is not a substitute for emergency medical care. If you are experiencing severe symptoms, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or believe you are having a medical emergency, please call 999 or attend your nearest A&E immediately. For urgent but non-life-threatening concerns, you can also contact NHS 111.
